Anita Shreve’s deft telling of love lost and never loved.
I didn’t know what to expect from this and found myself enthralled with each and every page, ensnared by this melancholy tale of two lives toppled by obsession. Shreve is a master storyteller… I’m sad I hadn’t bothered reading her before as she’s quickly become a new favorite.
