Do skateboard pros really need bodyguards? I’ve been watching this “Rob & Big” show on MTV with sick fascination. For the life of me I can’t figure out why Rob needs a bodyguard. I don’t discredit the pair’s friendship. That makes sense to me.
But a bodyguard?!
One of the most difficult things you’ll ever do is find someone to ring you up at The Home Depot. I can do it. You can help… as soon as open up another register so you can take my money.
Comedian Dane Cook’s got a great take on fear. In the October issue of Men’s Health he says:

I was a very fearful person before I started doing standup comedy. But I started enjoying my standup when I found the fear in it. … The fear’s where the good stuff is.

This isn’t uncommon among achievers, whether they’re CEOs or artists or scientists or athletes or entrepreneurs. Find the fear in, say, the pressure of a deadline and use it propel your writing.

This doesn’t mean you procrastinate and put off writing until you bump up against the deadline. Just make yourself a little uncomfortable and see what you produce.

You’ll probably find it’s nice work.

For the life of me I can’t figure out if it’s Ione Skye or if it’s her character, Diane Court, that’s so attractive in Say Anything.
Don’t get me wrong: Skye is a lovely woman then and now. But there’s nothing else I’ve seen her in since that has me as smitten.
