Dinosaur Jr.’s Beyond
… but they still know how to rock!

So it isn’t exactly on topic for this here blogthang, but I saw Dinosaur Jr.—an all-time favorite band—last night here in Denver.

Gorgeous night under the mile high sky. The rain held—the band had literally finished the last note of the last song when the first drops fell.

Perfect.

Except that, this morning, it sounds as if my head’s inside a fishbowl and my ears ring like someone’s holding tiny tuning forks inside them.

I imagine it’ll be days before that fishbowl thing goes away. The ringing, well that’ll be around forever.

I don’t mean to be so dismissive about this because it’s a big deal. I’ve seen far too many rock and roll shows with unprotected ears for the tinnitus to go away now.

Yep, I know… I’m a dope. These are my only pair of ears and I’m already about thirty percent deaf. I should take better care of what I have left. I can’t imagine a life without hearing music.

But it really was an awesome show!
