Unlike last year’s 52–in–52 project, I’ve decided to stop reading when something doesn’t trip my trigger and move on to the next thing. I stuck with too many books last year—probably more than a dozen—that I shouldn’t have.
There was a reason for it, though. I figured it wasn’t enough to just read stuff I like or stuff that represented good storytelling or good writers. I wanted to know the opposite of those, too.
Not this year.
I stopped reading DEAD WEIGHT last night. I’m not sure yet if it’s because I wasn’t much feeling like reading or if it’s because I just didn’t like it.
I’m hanging on to the book and it’s gone back into the queue. And I might still pick it up later.
For now, I’m not going to spend another minute on it.
Unless, of course someone out there can tell me why I should have kept reading.
