Home Is The Sailor

by Day Keene

Home Is The Sailor

Rating: 7

Another from the great Hard Case imprint. As I was reading this title, it left me wanting. But I had to remember that it’s a classic from the Golden Age of pulp fiction. Over and over I had to scratch my head at the implausibility of the speed at which the portagonist and the damsel meet and get married.

It underscored the nature of the publishing beast at the time. Chances are, Keene needed to make the rent and pounded this thing out and submitted it in a week’s time. Voila! Rent\’s paid.

This one wasn’t bad. Just not as good as others. If you have a day or two to kill, give it a shot. But if you never do, you haven’t missed much.
