I began reading this in 2006, just before the end of the year. But I finished it in 2007 so I figured that’s where the review should go. I’ve read Konrath’s WHISKEY SOUR, a book I didn’t care for so much. Actually, it’s the series’ main character–Chicago detective Lt. Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels–I don’t care for. (I’ve got other Daniels novels on the way to my house. Maybe my mind will change.)

But THE LIST, one of the author’s unpublished novels, is one that I loved. Much of what Konrath readers know—serial killers that make Thomas Harris cringe along with pee–yer–pants humor—is in this book.

While I thought the end of the second act sagged a little, I did find this to be a well done thriller in which a group of seemingly disconnected people are getting offed in gruesome ways.
