New review: Erle Stanley Gardner’s Top Of The Heap (written as A.A. Fair). I wasn’t wild about this book, as I found botht eh Cool and Lam characters a bit over the top. It was just too much for my tastes.

Just finished reading Ed McBain’s The Empty Hours, a collection of novellas in the classic 87th Pricinct mysteries series.
I guess if you invent the genre, you ought to be the master at it. I loved this book.
